
Free Chinese Language Training
Background:
Hong Kong faces a recognized challenge in the under-representation of ethnically diverse individuals within its civil service, particularly its disciplinary forces. A significant barrier to recruitment for adults of diverse ethnic backgrounds is often traditional Chinese language proficiency.
Purpose:
Offer specialized Chinese language training, enhance employment prospects for individuals from diverse ethnicities and foster greater diversity within Hong Kong's public service.
Action 1:
Chinese Language Training for Adults of Diverse Ethnicity in preparation for joining the disciplinary forces / civil service. Classes to be held on Saturday, Kowloon side.
Action 2:
Project Concord provides Chinese language training specifically for adults of diverse ethnic backgrounds who aspire to join the disciplinary forces or civil service. Classes to be held on Sunday. Project Concord is sponsored by the Sikh Temple Hong Kong.
The training is coached by Mr. James Elms, a former Senior Superintendent and Deputy Commandant of the Police Cadet School, Hong Kong Police.
